This week we're supporting a worthy GoFundMe project from Jeremy Joyce of Back People Eats.

Amid the (justifiable) civil unrest in just about every city across America, Jeremy decided to start a relief fund for black-owned restaurants affected by both the coronavirus shutdowns as well as those who reduced operations or incurred damage due to the protests. His goal was to raise $20,000 and spread it across 40 restaurants in different cities, but that number was exceeded in a single day. The fund is now above $70,000 and will remain open though June 18. Recipients will be announced on Juneteenth.

Restaurants have razor-thin margins as it is. This money will make huge difference for the small business owners who hope to survive a brutal few months.
